I’ve spent the last three days at crafting workshops with my crafty friends at the Craftaganza, organised by Crafter’s Companion. This is the fifth year that I have attended and it was great to meet up with my friends again.
As usual there was a lot of laughter and chat – but also some serious crafting. There were 12 workshops all together. We played with embossing machines, luminarte inks, spectrum noir pens, wire and bead sets to make necklaces and ear-rings, beads and cord to make shamballa bracelets, we constructed stationery boxes and a sort of slider card, we rolled hundreds of paper cones to make a wreath, and cut paper strips to make Christmas trees and made a card using designs from a Cd by Nigel May.
We had all the usual Crafter’s Companion people leading the workshops – Sara Davies, Claire Hamer, Leann Chivers, Sarah Millsop, Louisa McLean and Sheena Douglass, We were very lucky to have Sheena this year as she is recovering from an operation, happily she told us that she did feel much better, although she was still being very careful. So Sheena took workshops for two of the three days but on Saturday – when we had six shorter workshops her place was taken by Mr Nigel May.
Not all of my projects are finished – the stationery box made with Sara needs decorating – the box is fully constructed though, so I can make more of them! My bead and chain necklace and bracelet needs all the beads and chains linking together – the ear-rings are finished and I am wearing them at the moment. The crocheted wire and Swarovski crystal necklace needs the ends finished and the clasp attached, but the main part of the necklace is complete. And the paper cones need sticking together to form the wreath.
All the completed projects are dotted throughout this blog post.
